These ceramic slides are glazed with a high quality, unique crackle glazing, that has been achieved as a result of over 30 years development and refinement. It requires absolute precision of materials and firing temperatures. The first glazing layer crazes as it shrinks over the clay. A special glaze mixture is then absorbed into the cracks via a capilliary action. A further firing takes place to a mature temperature and only the “memory” of the cracks then remain.
