Description
Presenting a vibrant diversity of musical language and thought, the volume reflects the wide spectrum of compositional trends apparent in new music today and will serve as an invaluable introduction to the world of contemporary music. Each of the composers has written a work that, by design, is neither too long nor too difficult, yet which does not compromise his or her own compositional style. The result is SPECTRUM, a unique collection of pieces suitable for amateur and professional pianists, with a level difficulty of Grade 5 to LRSM.
Spectrum was commissioned by Thalia Myers, pianist and teacher with funds provided by The Arts Council of England, The Holst Foundation and The Britten-Pears Foundation
