Millennium III Action featuring ABS Carbon Action Parts:

After the success of the Millennium III Action in Kawai’s Grand pianos, they developed the Millennium III action for Upright Piano that has resulted with the strong, precise and powerfull action for the new “K-Series” models.

The Millennium III Action features components made of ABS-Carbon, a new composite material created by the infusion of carbon into Kawai’s existing ABS Styran. ABS-Carbon is incredibly sturdy and rigid, which allowed them to make the action parts lighter without sacrificing strength. The lighter design makes the Millennium III Action tremendously fast and effortless for the player. The repetition and responsiveness are superb.

Every exacting detail of the action was exhaustively analysed to meet the stringent demands of the skilled pianist. One prime example of this effort was the addition of a microscopic surface texture on the jack at the point where it meets the hammer. The result of this subtle but important change is a dramatic increase in control during pianissimo playing.

New Cabinet Design:

A more elegant, cabinet has been designed with wooden elements that bring extra shine; new shapes for the edges and many more construction details have been added such as a longer music rack, new soft fall mechanism, and new brass castors.

“Soft Fall” Fallboard:

The “Soft Fall” Fallboard closing system protects your hands, fingers and the pianos finish from the harm that a jarring close may cause.

Non-lead weighted Keys:

Kawai have changed the weight used in the piano keys from lead to iron as it’s better for the environment.

ATX4 Hyrbid system:

The Kawai range of ATX4 hybrid acoustic pianos combine the latest development of technology with Kawai’s tradition and craftsmanship.

Key improvement features of the new ATX4 silent system include:

• Controller in the Piano Remote App (no built in display or control panel) which is available for iOS or Android.  This app includes a new recording function enabling you to record MIDI and audio, aswell as full quality audio recordings with an interface or external microphone (sold separately).  Further, more the app enables you to share the recordings easily or edit in other music apps.
• Improved SK-EX Sound Rendering with multi-channel sampling and resonance modelling.
• New Virtual Technician Parameters including hammer and release noise.
• Master Piano Artisans have supervised the sound and touch development to help achieve silent piano performance using the ATX4 as closer to an acoustic piano.
• Improved GP Touch Muting System so the hammer stops just before hitting the strings at the same time as normal playing enabling normal grand piano touch whether playing acoustically or on muting mode (with headphones).
• With the PiaBookPlayer App you can view a total of 377 pieces of the notated scores, and listen to them playback.
• The ATX4 features Bluetooth Midi and Bluetooth Audio. This allows connection to your device and apps wirelessly – whether recording songs or playing music so you can accompany on the piano.  There is also improved audio quality, with less latency.
