Our Bristol Store, Music Service Department and Workshop Are Reopening

Here’s what you need to know…

We’re really looking forward to welcoming customers back into our store and to begin offering services in our workshop again.

The safety of our customers and staff remains our biggest priority, we have worked hard to ensure we can welcome you back safely. We encourage customers to place orders online where possible, as this continues to be the safest and most convenient way to shop with Mickleburgh for the time being.

Here’s when you can expect things to be back to ‘normal’…

From 1st June

  • Piano Restoration and Piano Services
  • Piano Tuning
  • Piano Removals and Transportation
  • Other instrument repairs and servicing (guitars, brass and woodwind)

From 15th June

  • The shop will reopen, operating on our regular opening hours 9am to 5:30pm, Monday-Saturday (closed on Sunday)
  • A limited number of studio & Practise rooms will reopen

Extra steps we are taking to ensure the safety of our customers and staff

Piano Services

As of 1st June, we will be operating a full tuning service, with tuners wearing masks and gloves for protection.  We ask our customers to confirm that they are not self-isolating due to Covid-19 and that they or anyone in their household have not experienced Covid-19 symptoms in the 14 days prior to the visit.  As a customer, you will then be asked to open doors and keep 2 metres away from the technician at all times (we may ask you to wait in another room whilst our technician attends to the piano).

Teaching Studios and Practise Rooms

We will be reopening access to practise rooms and studios when the shop reopens on the 15th June.  In the interests of safety, we will be limiting the number of rooms we can offer for the time being. This will ensure social distancing is possible within the practice rooms and when entering and leaving the building. Unfortunately, this will mean we can only offer the larger practise rooms at the moment, please also know the number of people allowed per booking will be limited per session. You can book our rooms online as usual, but we may contact you prior to your booking to discuss your reservation.

Piano Showroom Appointments

Currently, we can allow customers into the shop by appointment to see Acoustic and Premium Digital Pianos as with only one customer at a time it is easy to socially distance.  Customers should either email or phone whilst we are open (Mon – Fri 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.) to arrange an appointment. Or you can book an appointment anytime online.

Brass Repair Workshop

Store Reopening – 15th June

The Bristol store will reopen on the 15th June, we will operate at our usual opening hours. We do not expect there to be large queues as we do not normally have large numbers of people visiting the shop at any one time, however, some during busier periods you may be asked to wait outside as we limit the number customers allowed in the store at one time. We appreciate your patience and understanding on this.

The majority of our supply chain has continued to operate during the lockdown, so we do not expect there to be a shortage of stock.  However, some instruments have seen an unprecedented demand during the lockdown that even our suppliers have not been able to keep with, and these are mainly home recording equipment, stage pianos and cheaper end digital pianos.  We do however have some stock and more is on its way over the coming weeks.  People can always phone/email to check what is available before they come in or visit our website for more information, stock levels on the website also match what we have in store, and we endeavour to keep this information as accurate as possible.
